Achievement by H/C Omatsungba, Narcotic Cell PS (PHQ)

H/C Omatsungba serving under Narcotic Police Station (PHQ) has made some remarkable detections worth mentioning.

1. On 01/04/2012, while checking and frisking at Narcotic Check Point Chumukedima arrested one person namely, Md. Sajad Khan for possession of approx 2.5 kgs of Brown Sugar, who was travelling in passenger Bus B/Regd. No. NL-04/B-0574 coming from Imphal towards Dimapur. On spot interrogation another arrest was made at Blue Hill Station Dimapur namely Riyajuddin, who was waiting for the consignment to be taken to Guwahati. In this connection OC Narcotic Cell PS registered case vide Narcotic Cell PS C/no. 008/12 U/S 21 NDPS Act. Both accused were sent to custody and the case was chargesheeted and accused persons convicted by the court.

2. On 14/11/14, while conducting checking and frisking at Narcotic Check Point Khuzama on National Highway 29, 2 (two) suspected passengers travelling in a taxi (winger) No. MN-01X-2061 coming from Imphal and proceeding towards Dimapur were identified and were made to alight from the vehicle. It was their facial expression that made them suspicious. On alighting their back packs were checked but nothing could be found but they both were carrying identical sandals with thick soles which were ripped opened with a knife and found neatly packed Brown Sugar in polythene inside the soles of the sandals. They both were wearing Sports shoes which were also ripped opened and found the same. Altogether, 1 kg 700 grams were seized from two persons namely, Azid Ali and Sajebur Rahmar both of Irilbum Dist Imphal East. They were arrested and sent to custody. In this connection OC Narcotic Cell PS registered a case vide Narcotic Cell PS C/No. 010/14 U/S 21 NDPS Act. The case was chargesheeted.

3. On 26/07/2015, H/C Omatsungba while on duty at Khuzama detained 2 (two) suspected persons namely, Tajuddin and Abdul Razaq both from Lilong Village Dist. Thoubal, Manipur, where their travelling bags were checked and found 2 kgs each of Brown Sugar neatly stitched in their bags. A total of 4 (four) kgs of Brown Sugar worth Rs 4 Crores in the International market was recovered and seized from them, and sent to custody. Another successful detection was madde by this young NCO through his professional competence. In this connection OC Narcotic Cell PS registered a case vide Narcotic Cell PS Case No. 008/15 U/S 21 NDPS Act. Case Chargesheeted.

The good works done by Head Constable Omatsungba Ao leading to detection at the risk of his own life and preventing these harmful drugs to reach international markets averting harmful damage to society and sending drug dealers to custody preventing them from future trafficking is highly commendable.
